Abstract

PURPOSE:To ensure quick setting of aperture, by providing a stop mechanism, by which the diameter of an opening can be changed from the outside, at the aperture. CONSTITUTION:Infrared rays 7, which are inputted through an infrared-ray transmitting window 2, are detected with an infrared-ray detecting element 8 through an aperture 6. In this aperture, a stop mechanism comprising a stop 9, a gear 10, a motor 11 and a lead pin 12 is provided. When the optimum aperture opening diameter is set with respect to the infrared-ray detecting element 8, power is supplied through the lead pin 12, and the motor 11 is rotated. The opening of the stop is continuously changed and set. Therefore, it is not necessary to replace the apertures having the different opening diameters. The optimum opening angle diameter can be set quickly and positively with the detector being cooled with liquid nitrogen.
