Abstract

PURPOSE:To dispense with two pieces of PLL circuits for modulating/ demodulating a reproduced carrier chrominance signal by making the color difference signal of the reproduced carrier chrominance signal capable of being both demodulated and modulated in synchronism with the burst signal of other carrier chrominance signal. CONSTITUTION:The reproduced carrier chrominance signal is inputted to a frequency converter 20, and the burst signal is extracted by a burst extraction circuit 21. After synchronizing the phase of this burst signal with the phase of a reference signal from a reference signal oscillator 23, the carrier chrominance signal is fetched, and the color difference signals of two kinds are demodulated by synchronous detection circuits 25A, 25B, and those are stored in a memory 27 through A/D converters 26A, 26B. The phase of the reference signal from the reference signal oscillator 23 is synchronized with the phase of the burst signal in a received video signal. The color difference signal, read out of the memory 27, is modulated by a carrier signal, generated based on the reference signal from the reference signal oscillator 23.
