Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform excellent time axis correction at all times and to keep continuity of chroma signal, by providing jitter for the conversion signal in converting chroma signal in high frequencies, and making phase inversion as required. CONSTITUTION:Luminance signal is separated from a video signal reproduced from a tape 9 with a rotating head 8 via a switch 7 by means of a high pass filter 10, and the chroma signal is separated with a low pass filter 13. High frequency conversion is made for this chroma signal at a frequency converter 14 and mixed with said luminance signal at a mixing circuit 12, the output is in A/D conversion 20 and applied to a memory 21. The horizontal and vertical synchronizing signals are separated at a synchronizing separation circuit 22, the horizontal synchronizing signal is applied to an AFC circuit 23, chrominance subcarrier wave including the same jitter as the playback signal is picked up and applied to a phase correction circuit 28. On the other hand, the continuity of chroma signal is detected at a control circuit 24 and when discontinuity is detected, the phase of chrominance carrier wave is inverted and applied to a converter 17 through a terminal 29 and a switch 30 in place of an oscillator 16.
