Abstract
PURPOSE:To enlarge the dynamic range of an optical receiving circuit by lowering the input impedance of a pre-amplifier to amplify the output of a photo- detecting element when the incoming intensity of an optical signal is strong. CONSTITUTION:An output signal to correspond to the incoming intensity of the optical signal is inputted to an equalizing amplifying part 4. An AGC control voltage from an AGC circuit 5 has a characteristic to be increased with accompanying the increasing of the output voltage of the equalizing amplifying part 4 and the operating condition of transistors 8 and 9 is controlled. When the incoming intensity of the optical signal is weak, since a base potential is low, the transistors 8 and 9 go to a shutdown condition. Reversely, when the incoming intensity is strong, the transistors 8 and 9 go to an active condition and since a collector current is respectively flown, the input impedance of a pre- amplifying circuit 2 is lowered. As the result, since the saturation of the pre- amplifying circuit 2 is avoided, the dynamic range can be enlarged.
