Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain an A-class amplifier featuring a low power loss in the transistor as well as the reduced distortion, by setting the power voltage to be supplied to the power amplifying transistor to such level that is obtained by applying the constant voltage to the voltage which is proportional to the input signal. CONSTITUTION:The input signal voltage is referred to as ei, the gain of amplifier 2 is A1, the gain of power supply amplifier 8 is A2, and the generation voltage of power supply 9 and 10 are E1 and E2 respectively. Thus, the signal voltage of output terminal 6 becomes nearly to A1ei, and the voltage amplified through amplifier 8 is A2ei. If E1=E2=E and A1=A2 are satisfied, collector emitter voltage VCE1=VCE2=A2ei+E1-A1ei=E is obtained. Therefore, generation voltage E of supply 9 and 10 suffices with the minimum collector-emitter voltage necessary for operation of Tr4 and 5. And a constant minimum necessary amount is secured regardless of the input signals, and thus the power loss can be minimized even for a A-class amplifier.
