Abstract

PURPOSE:To avoid the concentration of electric field and to make the vacuum bulb compact by providing a fixing metal which consists of plural gearing pieces having an elastic deformation performance to the outer side center of a metal shield, and pressing and engaging it to a recess furnished at the inner side of an insulating container. CONSTITUTION:A metal shield 14 is installed inside an insulating tube 1 which composes a vacuum container, a fixed electrode 10 and a movable electrode 12 are arranged at the position where the shield 14 is installed, and the electric field by the shield 14 is varied depending on the form and the size of the shield 14. A fixing metal which consists of plural gearing pieces 25a, 25b, and the like, made of heat-resisting panels such as Inconel is furnished at the outer side center of the metal shield 14. The fixing metal is inserted while bending to the size less than the inner diameter of the insulating tube 1, and engaged to a recess 1b furnished inside the insulating tube 1. Since the metal shield 14 can be made smooth with no projection at the inner side, the size can be made minimum and the generated electric field is made even.
