Abstract

PURPOSE:To manufacture a highly wear-resistant alloy excellent in corrosion resistance to halogen by adding specific percentage of WC powder to a powdered master alloy having a specific composition consisting of Si, B, Cr, Mo, Cu, and Ni, mixing them, and subjecting the resulting powder mixture to sintering. CONSTITUTION:A WC powder is added by 9-41%, by weight, to a powdered master alloy consisting of 1.0-3.5% Si, 0.5-6.0% B, 14-24% Cr, 14-35% Mo, 0.4-4.0% Cu, and the balance essentially Ni, and these are mixed. The resulting powder mixture is sintered by means of HIP treatment of about 950 deg.C and about 1,000atm., etc. As a result, a sintered alloy which has a composition consisting of 0.59-3.19% Si, 0.29-5.46% B, 8.26-21.84% Cr, 8.26-31.85% Mo, 0.23-3.64% Cu, 8.40-38.40% W, 0.55-2.50% C, and the balance essentially Ni and in which the WC powder is dispersed can be obtained. This alloy is a highly wear-resistant Ni-base alloy excellent in corrosion resistance to halogen and is a material suitably used for parts, etc., for the injection molding of a composite material such as fluororesin, etc., containing carbon fiber, etc.
