Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable a sharp printing to be applied on a low-smoothness paper, by a method wherein, an ink surface is dielectrically polarized by disposing an ink substrate in a strong electric field, a part corresponding to a pixel is heated, and a liquid drip-form ink is sucked and made to fly to be transferred as an image on an image support body. CONSTITUTION:When being applied to a brush charger, a conductive layer 18 of an ink film 10 generates a local discharge, whereby electric charges are accumulated on an ink surface contacting a brush. This charged part is carried to the position of a thermal head 11, and a selected part is heated to be softened and melted. The melted part has the electric charges and is forced toward a control electrode 13 because a high tension voltage having a reverse polarity to the electric charges is applied to the control electrode 13. By selecting an ink material forming an ink with a surface tension in melting not more than an electrostatic force, the melted ink is separated from the ink film 10 to fly through a slit disposed in the control electrode 13 to a paper 17 as an image support body, thereafter being set and fixed with decreasing heating value.
