Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable colored powder to be pressed through reduced thickness and images of good quality to be obtained by using a specific member which attracts the colored powder by electrostatic attraction force at the time of fusing the colored powder on a magnetic sheet. CONSTITUTION:A voltage is applied from a DC power source 16 to a roller 15 which is composed of a conductor having a dielectric layer 14 on the outside peripheral surface and the layer 14 is contacted to a rotating magnetic brush 12. The colored powder 13 and iron powder 13' within a conductive vessel 17 are attracted to the layer 14 by electrostatic attraction force and are thereby picked up thereon. The powder 13 thus picked up is contacted and pressed to a recording sheet 3 as the roller 15 is rotated. Next, the powder 13 is heated and melted via the sheet 3 by the heating part 2 of a recording head 1, whereby the recording images 6 of good image quality composed of the powder 13 are formed on the sheet 3. The iron powder 13' does not migrate to the sheet 3 and deposits on the layer 4, thus returning into the vessel 17. The same holds true of the power 13 which has not been used for recording.
