Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable electronic scan-recording through a simple and compact apparatus, by selectively energizing an electroconductive coloring material to melt it and causing the molten coloring material to adhere to a recording material to form an image corresponding to the energization.
CONSTITUTION: The coloring material 1 in a container 9 is molten by a heater 8 to adhere to a roller 2. When the roller 2 is rotated in the direction of the arrow, the molten coloring material 1 reaches a shaping roller 7 while the material is cooled. As a result, a uniform layer is made of the material on the shaping roller. The coloring material 1 then comes into contact with an electrode 3 supported on an insulator 11. The electrode 3 is made of a single or multiple needles to apply a voltage to the colored material 1 in response to an electric signal. Joule heat is produced in the coloring material 1 by the applied voltage. Only the part of the material, to which the voltage is applied, is molten. The molten material is kept for a short time in contact with ordinary paper 4 which is caused to approach the electrode 3 by the rotation of the roller 2. The molten material is transferred onto the ordinary paper 4 to form the image 6.
