Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase recording speed and enhance resolving power by making a needle electrode and a return electrode contact with an ink sheet which is made to contact with a recording paper sheet and by impressing image signal voltage between the electrodes. CONSTITUTION:The ink layer 1a of the ink sheet 1 and the recording paper sheet 2 are made to contact with each other and, being supported by supporting rollers 3 and 4, are moved in the direction of an arrow (a), while the needle electrodes 5 arranged at a fixed interval on a electrode retainer 6 and the return electrode 7 arranged at a prescribed interval from the electrodes 5 are made to contact with the base layer 1b of the sheet 1. And, the image signal voltage is impressed between the electrodes 5 and 7 to melt the part of the sheet 1 immediately under the electrodes 5 with Joule heat and the melted part is transferred onto the recording paper sheet 2. By this constitution, an image being free from clogging, operating stably and having high reliability and high resolving power is obtained.
