The soln. prepd. by incorporating the lubricating agent into the solvent mixture composed of a fluorine solvent and an arom. solvent is used for the above-mentioned lubricating agent soln. The plasticization of the resin binder and the unstabilization of the magnetic powder on the surface of the magnetic layer are then effectively prevented and the magnetic recording medium which is greatly improved in traveling stability by the good lubricity is formed.
