Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable a valve body of the captioned engine to retreat with a minor driving force by forming, on a valve body end surface facing a tail pipe connected to an exhaust gas expansion chamber, a cut-out in an inclining manner that the sectional area of the tail pipe will reduce as well as by forming a guide opening fixed to the tail pipe in the manner that the valve body can be moved back and forth. CONSTITUTION:The exhaust gas of a two cycle engine is discharged through an expansion chamber 16 and a tail pipe 18. A throttle valve 20 is provided on the tail pipe 18 to increase and decrease the sectional area of the tail pipe 18. The throttle valve 20, being supported by a shaft 30 inside a mechanism chamber 28, is arranged to be driven through the medium of a belt 24 and a pulley 26. In this case, a guide opening 40 is formed on the tail pipe 18 in the manner that a valve body 36 can be moved back and forth. On the other hand, the valve body 36 end surface facing the tail pipe 18 is cut out with a circular arc of the same diameter as the tail pipe 18. The valve body 36 end surface that is cut out is inclined in a downward slope in the manner that the sectional area of the tail pipe 18 reduces from the upstream side of the exhaust gas toward the downstream side.
