Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase the cooling effect of a piston, by spreading an opening end, forming a cooling fluid inlet passage to conical shape, simultaneously continuing the passage smoothly from the axial direction of the piston toward a circumferential piston cooling fluid passage and forming the passage to curved shape. CONSTITUTION:A cooling fluid jetting nozzle 10 is fixedly mounted to an engine crank chamber, and cooling fluid is continuously jetted toward a cooling fluid inlet hole 6, passing through a piston cooling fluid passage 7 and cooling a piston, and released from a cooling fluid outlet hole 8 into an engine. Since the cooling fluid inlet hole 6 is spread with its inlet to horn shape, most of cooling fluid jetted from the cooling fluid jetting nozzle 10 enters the inlet hole 6 to increase charging efficiency. Further a connection part of the piston cooling fluid passage 7 is smoothly formed from the piston axial direction to the circumferential direction, then the cooling fluid smoothly flows at increased speed, thus a cooling effect of the piston can be improved.
