Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a laminated magnetic thin film having low coercive force and high permeability by epitaxial-growing one parts of Fe thin-films or synthetic thin-fiims mainly comprising Fe in the magnetic thin-film in which the Fe thin-films or the synthetic thin-films mainly comprising Fe are formed to laminated structure through thin-films having another composition. CONSTITUTION:An Fe thin-film is used as a main magnetic film 21, Permalloy (Ni-19.8atomic% Fe) as an intermediate layer 22 and a glass substrate as an alloy substrate 23. The Fe thin-film having bcc crystal structure is orientated so that a face (110) runs parallel with the substrate, and a face (100) is orientated when Permalloy having Cu3Au type crystal structure similar to fcc is evaporated onto the Fe thin-film. Accordingly, crystalline orientating properties are improved by epitaxial growth, thus enhancing the soft magnetic characteristics of a magnetic thin-film in which Fe is laminated through the Permalloy. The laminated magnetic thin-film is employed for a magnetic head for high-density magnetic recording.
