Abstract

PURPOSE:To produce a powder molding having a uniform and high density by pressurizing the slurry in a molding tool after oscillating the powder in the cavity by oscillating the molding tool at the time of dehydrating said slurry by a slurry dehydrating method. CONSTITUTION:The powder slurry 22 consisting of powder for sintering, and water or org. solvent is poured and packed into the cavity 18 of the molding tool 11 where the slurry 22 is preheated to about 70-80 deg.C by a heater 21. A switch of an oscillation generator 19 below the molding tool is then turned on to oscillate the entire part of the tool 11 and to oscillate the slurry 22 in the cavity 18 for a specified period of time; thereafter, pressurizing force is applied to the slurry 22 by a pressurizing plunger 14 to gradually pressurize the powder slurry. The liquid-component of the slurry 22 is thereby discharged from linear slits 15, 16, 17. This slurry is held for the prescribed time under the prescribed pressure. The molding tool 11 is then cooled and the molding is taken out. The taken out molding is heated at the temp. above the m.p. of the solvent to evaporate and eliminate the solvent. A uniform molding having large density is thereby obtd. in a short dehydrating time.
