Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve insulation performance by forming the specific thickness of a specific metal coating layer via a copper sulfide coating layer on the surface of a superconducting wire inserted in a metal tube and cooled therein. CONSTITUTION:A Cr coating layer 3b of 1mum to 5mum thickness is laminated on the surface of a superconducting wire 2 composed of Nb3Sn, Nb3Al and the like via a copper sulfide coat layer 3a, thereby forming an insulation layer 3. According to the aforesaid mixed constitution, insulation performance is enhanced with the layer 3b and the diffusion of Cr is prevented. And the drop of residual specific resistance due to the diffusion of Cr is prevented and the insulation performance is remarkably improved.
