Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an amorphous alloy in which fine carbide grains are uniformly dispersed and incorporated by subjecting the molten alloy consisting of one or more kinds among Fe, Co and Ni, one or more kinds among Si, B and P, one or more kinds of hard carbide forming metallic elements and C carbon to rapid solidifying. CONSTITUTION:The molten metal of the alloy contg. The compsn. expressed by the general formula of alpha100-x-y-zBxCyMz (in the formula, alpha denotes one or more kinds of ferromagnetic metals such as Fe, Co and Ni; beta denotes one or more kinds of elements such as Si, B and P; M denotes one or more kinds among Nb, Ta, Zr, V, Hf, Cr and Mo which combines with C to form carbide having high hardness; and 10<=x<=35, 2<=y<=15 and 2<=z<=15 are regulated) is spouted on a roll made of water-cooled copper which rapidly rotates and is quenched, by which an alloy thin foil having excellent strength, hardness and magnetic characteristics in which hard metallic carbide grains having 0.1-10mum grain size are uniformly dispersed is produced.
