Abstract
PURPOSE:To manufacture the titled alloy having high saturation magnetic flux density, excellent in soft-magnetic properties, and relatively reduced in magnetostriction, by cooling a molten Fe-base alloy rapidly to form an amorphous alloy and then subjecting this amorphous alloy to heat treatment for forming fine crystalline grains consisting of bccFe solid solution in a specific proportion or above. CONSTITUTION:A molten alloy composed principally of Fe and amorphous substance-forming elements is cooled rapidly to be formed into an amorphous alloy. Subsequently, this alloy is further subjected to heat treatment for forming fine crystalline grains consisting of bccFe solid solution so that they comprise >=50% of the structure. For example, a master alloy having a composition consisting of, by atom, 1% Cu, 13.5% Si, 9% B, 3% Nb, and the balance Fe is manufactured by means of high frequency melting, which is formed into an amorphous foil by means of a single roll device. Then, this foil is put into a furnace of N2-gas atmosphere kept at 550 deg.C and held there for 1hr and is taken out, followed by cooling down to room temp.
