Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve dust collection efficiencies, by providing discharge electrodes having a discharge-electrode support frame to which a plurality of units comprising a discharge electrode which allow an electric current to flow easily and a discharge electrode which does not allow an electric current to flow easily, a dust collection electrode facing the discharge electrodes, and a high voltage power source. CONSTITUTION:On the side of discharge electrodes, a plurality of units, each unit of which comprises discharge electrodes 1a1, 1a2-, disposed on the upstream side, having discharge portions with small radius of curvature, and discharge electrodes 1b1, 1b2-, disposed on the downstream side, having discharge portions with radius of curvature larger than that of the upstream side, are attached to a discharge electrode support frame 3. A dust collection electrode 2 is disposed so as to face said discharge electrodes and a high voltage is impressed between the discharge electrode and the dust collection electrode by means of a high voltage power source. As a result, suppression of electric current caused by space charge is decreased, so that high density electric charge is given to the dusts on the inlet side of the gas flow, leading to an improved dust collection efficiencies.
