PURPOSE:To prevent oxidation of an edible oil for frying and to prolong the usable life of the oil, by sintering a mixture composed mainly of silicic acid and added with Al2O3, CaO and MgO and throwing the obtained porous material into the edible oil. CONSTITUTION:A porous material is produced by sintering a mixture composed mainly of silicic acid (SiO2.nH2O) and added with small amounts of aluminum oxide (Al2O3), calcium oxide (CaO) and magnesium oxide (MgO). The porous material is thrown into an edible oil to prevent the oxidation of the oil.
