Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the small-sized, stable, and high-reliability light wave range finder while eliminating a mechanical operation part by forming a distance measurement optical system as an optical integrated circuit. CONSTITUTION:Coherent luminous flux which is modulated in terms of intensity by a optical intensity modulation part 7 is switched by an optical path switching part 8 between an external distance measurement optical path Pr and a reference optical path Pm. The quantity of coherent luminous flux guided to the external distance measurement optical path Pr is adjusted by a 1st light quantity adjustment part 9. Coherent luminous flux from the 1st light quantity adjustment part 9 is sent out to an object through a 1st converging grating coupler (FGC) 11. Then reflected luminous flux from the object is received by a 2nd FGC 12. Further, coherent luminous flux guided to the reference optical path Pm has its quantity adjusted by a 2nd light quantity adjustment part 10 and is multiplexed with the sent light. Then the distance to the object is measured according to the phase of the reflected luminous flux.
