Abstract

PURPOSE:To control spillover of coolant even if pipes are broken by performing close from the inside of a pressure vessel in the normal operation and securing a water passage by means of water pressure in the time of drainage. CONSTITUTION:A top part of a wider area than that of an inlet of a drain piping 3 at the bottom part of a nuclear reactor pressure vessel 1 and a valve 2 enclosed by a cylindrical structure 7 in its circumference in which a water passage 4 is provided and whose bottom part comes in contact with a connecting pipe 5 are provided. A stop mechanism 6 is provided for preventing the disconnection of the valve 2 at the inside of a cylindrical structure 7. Therefore, the spillover of coolant from the pressure vessel can be controlled without closing the valve 2 when normal drain can be conducted and a piping breaking accident occurs.
