Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable water level to be detected even when the cap body has been removed, by a method wherein an auxiliary reference water tank is provided on the same level position as a condensing tank, and both of them are changed over to connect with a differential pressure detector. CONSTITUTION:Inside a nuclear reactor enclosing vessel 4, a nuclear reactor pressure vessel 1 containing a reactor core 2 is provided, and thereabove, a condensing tank 5 is provided connecting with a steam introducing pipe 6 which connects with the upper part of the vessel 1. In addition, on the same level as said condensing tank 5, an auxiliary reference water tank 10 is provided outside the enclosing vessel 4. The condensing tank 5 and the auxiliary reference water tank 10 are connected to a differential pressure detector 7 through on-off valves 13 and 12 by means of water-head pipes 8 and 11 respectively. On the other hand, from below the water surface in the pressure vessel 1, a water level detecting pipe 9 is connected to the differential pressure detector 7. Thereby, even when a cap body 3 has been removed, if the on-off valve 13 is closed and the on-off valve 12 is opened, the water levels in the auxiliary reference water tank 10 and the condensing tank are the same. Accordingly, the water level can be detected.
