Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the strength at a high temp. of the titled aluminum by specifying each content of Si, Cu, Mg, Co, Fe, Mn, Ti and P in an Al alloy. CONSTITUTION:The compsn. of the heat-resistant and high-strength Al alloy is constituted of, by weight, 12-15% Si, 2-5% Cu, 0.2-1.5% Mg, 0.5-3% Co, 0.3-1% Fe, 0.1-1% Mn, 0.01-0.2% Ti, 0.002-0.025% P and the balance Al. Since said Al alloy has specified componental elements and the contents thereof, it has excellent strength particularly at the high temp. of about 150-250 deg.C. An internal combustion engine can be provided with high efficiency by producing a piston in the use of said alloy.
