CONSTITUTION:A thermal head is composed of a thermal resistor layer 2 consisting of a composite oxide of barium oxide and ruthenium oxide, a lower electrode layer 3 composed of an Al/Si alloy with Al as a main component, an upper electrode layer 4 of Al and a protective layer 5 of Al2O3, etc., on a substrate 1. Therefore, a reaction with the thermal resistor layer 2 is prevented due to the properties of Al which is a main component of the lower and upper electrode layers. At the same time, the resistance change rate to applied voltage variations reduces, and the adhesion with the thermal resistor layer 2 is increased by the Al/Si alloy. Further, the bonding property is improved by the upper electrode 4 formed by using Al.
