Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a high continuous transferring speed and to properly inform a channel device of error information at a store transferring operating time by adding the error information to a return signal when an error is generated in a store transferring and returning the signal. CONSTITUTION:Based on a store request REQ from a channel device 1, a channel control unit 2 sends the store request MRQ to a main storage MS. At a time point an accept signal ACP is received to show the MRQ is received, a return signal RTN is returned to the channel device 1. When an error is generated in a store transferring, error information are added to the return signal RTN without waiting for the accept ACP signal at the next store request REQ time. When the store transmission is finished, the return RTN signal is returned based on an END signal from the main storage MS. Thus, a high continuous transferring speed can be obtained and the channel device 1 can be properly informed of the error information at the store transferring operating time.
