Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide sufficient magnetic anisotropy even under conditions only allowing application of relatively small orientation magnetic field and to improve magnetic characteristic, by kneading specific rare-earth magnet powder with an inorganic adhesive, press molding the kneaded material within magnetic field and aging the molded material for developing high coercive force while bonding and solidifying the material. CONSTITUTION:A sintered raw material consisting of 2-17 rare-earth elements is first milled. The magnet powder thus obtained shows coercive force as low as 6kOe or below until it is aged. The magnetic powder is mixed with an in organic adhesive such that the proportion of the inorganic adhesive to the alloy powder is 2% by weight or more. The kneaded material is then press molded within magnetic field. The molded material is aged with its molded shape maintained so that high coercive force is developed. Simultaneously, the material is also bonded and solidified. lf such treatments are performed under the effect of magnetic field, the magnetic characteristics can be improved further more.
