Abstract
PURPOSE:To measure the concentration of hydrogen in a soil gas accurately, by measuring the concentration of hydrogen in a mixed gas of a soil gas and an atmospheric air with a semiconductor type gas sensor to correct the concentration of hydrogen obtained based on a mixing ratio of the soil gas and the atmospheric air. CONSTITUTION:A soil gas 2 is sampled through a sampling port 22. On the other hand, when a leak valve 32 is opened to operate a pump 46, an atmospheric air 4 is sucked into an observation tube 20 through a mixing tube 30 to mix the gas 2 and the atomospheric air 4 in the tube 20. The mixed gas 6 is sucked into the pump 46 through a suction tube 34 to be discharged underground through a discharge pipe 48. The discharged gas 6 enters the tube through a sampling port 22 together with the gas 2. Thus, the gas 2 is circulated through the tubes 20 and 34, the pump 46 and the tube 48 so that the concentration of hydrogen in the tube 20 gives a normal value. On the other hand, an oxygen gas in the gas 2 is also sampled into the tube 20, but as the oxygen gas in the atmospheric air is supplied through the tube 30, the concentration of oxygen in the tube 20 is heightened. Then, the concentration of hydrogen obtained with a semiconductor type gas sensor 8 is corrected based on a mixing ratio of the gas 2 and the atmospheric air 4 to obtain the concentration of hydrogen in the gas 2.
