Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide an oxide type superconductive wire having small dia. and large critical current density by tapering one end of a rod-shaped oxide billet to be turned into superconductor, locally heating the tip at 1300-1600 deg.C to cause fusion or softening, and performing spinning with the oxide as it is or with a core supplied to the center. CONSTITUTION:Powders of Y2O3, BaCO3, CuO are mixed into the composition YBa2Cu3O7-x, and the mixture powder is provisionally baked under oxygen atmosphere at 900 deg.C for one hour, followed by crushing with a ball mill. The resultant powder is press molded, melted at 1400 deg.C of 1300-1600 deg.C, cooled and solidified, and turned into billet having an outside dia. of 15mm, an overall length of 50mm, and a taper angle of 120 deg.C, to manufacture a wire 5 while preheating is applied at 700 deg.C by a heater 4. It is also OK to fabricate a wire 6 by spinning at the outside of a W-wire core 9 of 0.1mm. The obtained wire 5 or 6 is heated treated under oxygen atmosphere at 900 deg.C for 10hr, followed by covering of Cmu by means of evaporation to a thickness of 30mum, to accomplish a superconductive wire of oxide type.
