Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable the formation of a magnetic pole free from a change in combined permeability over a wide magnetic field range and obtain a highly uniform magnetic field over said range in the gap of the magnetic pole by constituting the magnetic pole with a plurality of magnetic materials having different permeability characteristics. CONSTITUTION:An electromagnet is so constituted that two types of silicon steel comprising magnetic materials A3 and B4 are laminated to form a magnetic pole 1, a coil 2 is wound thereabout for running electric current and a highly uniform electric field is thereby formed in the gap of the magnetic pole 1. And a vacuum duct D is provided in the gap of the magnetic pole 1 and electron is turned around an electron orbit C at a high speed. The magnetic pole 1 is constituted with the alternate lamination of the magnetic material A3 having high permeability in a low electric field and the magnetic material B4 having high permeability in a high electric field. The electromagnet having the permeable pole 1 through the aforesaid lamination of different types of magnetic materials has a permeabilitymagnetizing curve/force/as synthesized. And the permeability does not change substantially even with a change in the magnetizing force and, therefore, it becomes possible to form a highly uniform magnetic field in the gap of the magnetic pole 1.
