Abstract

CONSTITUTION: A paper is impregnated with a solution of a surfactant in an organic solvent in a prescribed pattern, dried and then impregnated with an electroplating catalyst solution and the catalyst solution on the surface is then washed off to make a large amount of a catalyst present in the pattern part. The resultant paper is impregnated with an electroless plating solution to deposit the metal in a part where the catalyst in the interior of the paper is held. Thereby, a metal watermark having a sufficient concentration and a sharp contour is formed.
