Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve exhaust gas property and running property irrespective of types of a transmission by changing a set value of engine temperature according to whether the transmission is manual or automatic when EGR is stopped in the engine temperature lower than the set value. CONSTITUTION:To an electronic control unit 5 are input values detected by a throttle valve opening sensor 4, absolute intake pressure sensor 7, intake temperature sensor 8, cooling water sensor 9, rotational frequency sensor 10, O2 sensor 13, atmospheric pressure sensor 14, EGR valve lift sensor 28, etc., to control the opening time of a fuel injection valve 6 and duty ratio of an EGR valve opening controlling three- way electromagnetic valve 25. Said unit 5 controls the duty ratio of said electromagnetic valve 25 in the cooling water temperature higher than a set value so that an EGR valve 22 provides a desired valve opening based on absolute intake pressure and rotational frequency, while the set value of the cooling water temperature is altered to be 60 deg.C in a manual transmission and 30 deg.C in an automatic transmission for example.
