Abstract

PURPOSE:To intend to enlarge an exhaust gas recirculation controllable range in low temperature side by stopping exhaust gas recirculation control in a state of low engine speed in which engine speed is lower than a fixed speed while shifting the fixed speed according to temperature of the engine. CONSTITUTION:An electronic control unit 5 controls the EGR valve 22 with a negative pressure responding device 23 according to values of operating parameters of the engine through taking in signals of throttle opening, absolute pressure in an intake pipe, intake air temperature, water temperature engine speed, O2 density and EGR valve lift from sensors 4, 7-10, 13, 28. And, when a low engine speed state, in which engine speed is lower than a fixed speed, is detected, exhaust gas recirculation control by the EGR valve 22 is stopped while the fixed speed is shifted, according to engine temperature detected by the cooling water temperature sensor 9, to the one adapted to temperature condition after the engine warmed up without using the value in low temperature as it was. With constituting in such way, exhaust gas recirculation controllable range in low temperature side can be intended to enlarge without injuring drivability, and Nox component can be reduced still more.
