Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent air-fuel ratio from its rich state and to improve the startability by controlling the opening of a flow regulating valve, provided interposing in a secondary intake air supply passage communicating with inside an intake pipe in the downstream of a throttle valve, being based on an intake air temperature and an engine temperature when an engine is started in a high temperature. CONSTITUTION:A linear type solenoid valve 9, serving as the flow control valve, is provided in a secondary intake air supply passage 8 communicating with inside an intake manifold 4 in the downstream from a throttle valve 3 in a carburetor 1, and the solenoid valve 9 is controlled in its valve opening by a control circuit 20. The control circuit 20 inputs each output signal of an absolute pressure sensor 10, crank angle sensor 11, cooling water temperature sensor 12, intake air temperature sensor 13 and an oxygen concentration sensor 14 or the like. When an engine is started, the opening of the solenoid valve 9 is controlled being based on an intake air temperature and a cooling water temperature when both of these temperatures are decided to be placed in a high temperature starting condition of the predetermined temperature or more. By this method thus obtained, supplying secondary intake air corresponding to the evaporating amount of fuel, air-fuel ratio is prevented from a rich state.
