PURPOSE:To obtain uniform display luminances by successively scanning odd or even lines in the first half of one vertical scanning period and successively scanning the even or odd lines in the latter half of one vertical scanning period in a scanning electrode. CONSTITUTION:The odd scanning lines are scanned in the first half of one vertical scanning period, and the even scanning lines are scanned in the latter half of one vertical scanning period. In such a way, since the display of the whole screen is executed by interlaced-scanning the scanning lines in one vertical scanning period, the scanning lines to be scanned in the first half of one vertical scanning period and the scanning lines to be scanned in the latter half are made to be alternately lined up. Consequently, even through the display luminances of respective scanning lines are different respectively, since the luminances of respective scanning lines seem to be the mean luminance of the adjoining scanning lines at the time of watching the whole screen in a macro view, the apparent inclination of the display luminances on the whole screen can be decreased. Thus, an active matrix liquid crystal panel having a good display uniformity can be obtained.
