Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an active matrix liquid crystal display device which scarcely generates an uneven display luminance, by driving an odd line and an even line of a scanning electrode by each separate scanning driving circuit, scanning an odd scanning line in the first half of one vertical scanning period, and scanning an even scanning line in the latter half of the one vertical scanning period. CONSTITUTION:Each separate scan driving circuit 7, 8 is provided on an odd line and an even line of a scanning electrode of an active matrix liquid crystal panel. In this state, among scanning electrodes G1-G6, an odd or even line is canned successively in the first half of one vertical scanning period, and the even or odd line is scanned successively in the latter half of the one vertical scanning period. That is, the scanning line scanned in the first half of the one vertical scanning period, and the scanning line scanned in the latter half are arranged alternately, therefore, the inclination of a display luminance in appearance at the whole screen is reduced to about half.
