Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a uniform display luminance, by driving an odd line and an even line of a scanning electrode by each separate scanning driving circuit, scanning an odd scanning line in the first half of one vertical scanning period, and scanning an even scanning line in the latter half, by a scanning sequence reverse to the scanning sequence of the odd scanning line. CONSTITUTION:Each separate scanning driving circuit 7, 8 is provided on the odd line and the even line of a scanning electrode of an active matrix liquid crystal panel. In this state, among scanning electrodes G1-G6, an odd or even line is scanned successively in the first half of one vertical scanning period, and in the latter half of the one vertical scanning period, the even or odd line is scanned successively by the sequence reverse to the scanning sequence of the odd or even line. That is, the scanning line scanned in the latter half of the one vertical scanning period is scanned by the scanning sequence reverse to the scanning line scanned in the first half, therefore, the average value of each display luminance of two pieces of scanning lines being adjacent to each other becomes the same in any adjacent scanning line on the screen. In such a way, the inclination of a display luminance in appearance in the whole screen is onto generated.
