Abstract

PURPOSE: To accurately and automatically stack all bricks with a small robot by holding the furnace constructing robot rotatably, movably in the radial direction, and vertically movably in a furnace. CONSTITUTION: A suspension rack 13 is arranged at the furnace apex of a converter 12, chain blocks 2 are suspended from the rack 13, and a converter constructing device below a rotary rail 1 is carried into a furnace and suspended. A furnace constructing robot 8 is set to the work start level, then the robot 8 sucks the bricks 15 on a lifter 14 provided in the furnace in advance and stacks the bricks 15 on the circumference of the furnace via its action. When the stacking of the brisks 15 on the circumference in the operation range (about 45 deg.)of the robot 8 is completed, a rotary carriage 3 is rotated by 45 deg., and brick stacking is resumed. The diameter of the furnace is decreased as the brick stacking nears a furnace mouth section, thus a traverse carriage 7 below the rotary carriage 3 is moved in the radial direction of the furnace, and the brick stacking near the furnace mouth section is continued by the robot 8.
