PURPOSE:To make a cylinder to be reduced in its size and prolonged in its life by boring an exhaust valve attaching hole in the upper wall central portion of a cylinder and forming the upper surface of a piston into a recessed surface as well as fixing a spark plug in an exhausting valve central portion. CONSTITUTION:A central guide vertical hole 1d is bored in a cylinder head 1c, and a supporting guide pipe 3a provided with an exhaust valve 3 fixed on its lower end is arranged to penetrate the central guide vertical hole 1d. And, the supporting guide pipe 3a is moved up and down against a coil spring 3b by means of a cam 4 and also the opening part 1f of an exhaust conduit 1e is opened and closed by means of the exhaust valve 3. Furthermore, a spark plug 5 is penetratingly fixed on the central portion of the exhaust valve 3 and also the upper end surface of a piston 2 is formed into a recessed surface 2a. Thus, the valve 3 and the plug 5 can be attached at the same portion and the explosive pressure at the time of compressive ignition can also be spread along the recessed surface 2a.
