Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the activated carbon density of an electrode, to lower resistance, to elevate capacitance density and to improve re liability by forming the electrode from powder in which graphite or a metal is used as mother grains and activated carbon is fixed onto the surfaces of the mother grains as child grains. CONSTITUTION:Child grains composed of activated carbon in grain size of 0.01-50 microns are mixed with mother grains consisting of graphite or a metal in grain size of 0.1-500 microns, the mother grains are cover ed with the child grains, and mechanical heat energy is given and the child grains are fixed onto the surfaces of the mother grains. The fixed powder is pressed, thus forming a polarizable electrode. Accordingly, the uniform polarizable electrode having high energy density and low resistance is acquired.
