Abstract

PURPOSE:To surely prevent the double feeding of sheets of paper by detecting a refed sheet of paper by a detecting means and, then, separating a handling member from a paper refeeding member and moving a side part restricting member so as to beat both sides of sheets of paper while moving a bottom end restricting member downward and upward. CONSTITUTION:Sheets of paper are sent one sheet at a time nearly in a perpendicular direction into a housing part 70 and housed in a laminated condition in the thickness direction. After that, the sheets of paper are refed one sheet at a time by rotating a refeeding belt 101. At this time, the double feeding of the second and the following sheets of paper is prevented by means of a handling pad 120 which is brought into pressure contact with the refeeding belt 101. And, further, as the refed sheet of paper arrives at rollers 130, 131 while being provided with a conveying force, the handling pad 120 is separated from the belt 101 and side part restricting boards 95 beat both sides of housed sheets of paper while the bottom end restricting board 82 of the housing part 70 is moved up and down. Thereby, the sheets of paper are shaken while being moved up and down, causing the second and the following sheets of paper the front ends of which have been sent up to the place of the handling pad 120 to be to the original housed position.
