Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent residual paper at replacement of a cassette, in a paper feeding bed of the paper feeder for an electronic photoduplicating machine or the like, by providing a separating member, always urged to the separating direction from a paper feeding member and press contacted to the paper feeding member at mounting of the cassette. CONSTITUTION:If a cassette 3 is mounted, an actuator lever 14 is turned about a supporting point pin 13 as the center by a front wall 3a of the cassette 3, and an actuating part 14b swings a separating member 10 counter clockwise to press contact a friction member 11 to the surface of an endless belt 5. Accordingly, a sheet is held between the belt 5 and the friction member and fed out. If the cassette 3 is pulled off, the separating member 10 is swung clockwise by tension of a spring 12 to separate the friction member 11 from the endless belt 5. Accordingly, a sheet left between the belt 5 and the friction member 11 can be extracted together with the cassette to prevent residual paper in a paper feeder.
