Abstract

PURPOSE:To surely prevent the double feeding of sheets of paper by detecting a refed sheet of paper by a detecting means and, then, separating a handling member from a paper refeeding member while moving a bottom end restricting member once downward and, then, upward to the original restricting position. CONSTITUTION:Sheets of paper are sent one sheet at a time nearly in a perpendicular direction into an intermediate housing part 70 and housed in a laminated condition in the thickness direction. After that, the sheets of paper are refed one sheet at a time by rotating a refeeding belt 101. At this time, the double feeding of the second and the following sheets of paper is prevented by means of a handling member which is brought into pressure contact with the belt 101. Further, when the front end of the refed first sheet of paper arrives at rollers 130, 131 being detected by a sensor SE3, the belt 101 is stopped and a retainer board 80 is returned to its original position. As the rear end of the sheet of paper is detected by the sensor SE3, the handling member 120 is separated from the belt 101 and the bottom end restricting board 82 of the housing part 70 is moved downward from the restricting position of the paper bottom end and, then, moved upward to the restricting position. Thereby, the sheets of paper are also moved downward together, surely returning the second sheet of paper.
