Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the double feed of thick sheets by installing a guide means which is made of the low rigidity member having low frictional coefficient and contacts the top edge of a sheet in precedence with a separation assisting means and guides the sheets to the separating assisting means. CONSTITUTION:When an original is pushed in, the top edge of the original is guided into a separating suede spring 93 by a guide miler 95. Particularly, the original having an upward curl at the top edge contacts a guide miler 95, and guided into the separating suede spring 93. When a plurality of originals are pushed in at a time, the guide miler 95 is released upwardly, and the original is prevented from being pressed onto a transport belt 55. Further, in the separating suede spring 93, the high frictional member of the suede 93b is attached onto a leaf spring 93a, and the separating feed of the original is assisted by previously assorting the sheet originals. Then, the originals are transported by a transporting belt 55, and separated one by one by a separating means 71, and transported to the downstream side by the transport means.
