Abstract

PURPOSE:To make the penetration of a cylinder into the ground easier by a method in which a water-permeable material with water is supplied through pipes set around a cylinder and while forming a water-permeable layer, the water and air in the cylinder are discharged to reduced pressure. CONSTITUTION:A number of pipes 2 having downwardly directed openings are set on the lower part of a cylinder 1 having closed upper end and opened lower end. The pipes 2 are connected to a slurry pump 6 through a hose 2a connected to the upside of the cylinder 1. A water-permeable material 8 and sea water 9 are mixed in a hopper 7 and supplied to the pump 6. The material 8 is sent out under pressure and discharged from the tip, during which period air and water in the cylinder 1 are discharged by a reduced pressure pump 5 to form a water-permeating layer 4 on the wall of the cylinder 1. The cylinder 1 is then penetrated into the ground. The cylinder 1 can thus be easily penetrated without lowering in the strength of the natural ground.
