Abstract
PURPOSE:To keep in a wedge state wetting of micropores in an electrode by an electrode and to increase the reliability for a long time by forming an electrode with metal powder having different mean particle sizes. CONSTITUTION:An electrode is formed with metal powder comprising large particles and small particles. In micropores in the electrode obtained, wetting in a wedge state by an electrolyte arises. Even it the change of micropore distribution with time attendant on cell operation arises, large micropores through which a reaction gas is passed are ensured, and three-phase interface is steadily able to exist there. Output drop with operation time of a fuel cell is decreased and the reliability is increased for a long time.
