Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a coating material composition which gives a film having excellent heat resistance, oxidation resistance, adhesiveness, etc., by mixing potassium silicate, a colloidal silica, a hydrated aluminum silicate, and an aluminum phosphate compound in the specified weight proportions. CONSTITUTION:35-80wt.% potassium silicate is mixed with 7-16wt.% colloidal silica, 1.5-2wt.% hydrated aluminum silicate, and 4-25wt.% aluminum phosphate compound (e.g., aluminum tripolyphosphate or aluminum metaphosphate) to produce a heat-resistant coating material composition. This composition exhibits excellent heat resistance and corrosion resistance in a high-temperature region up to about 650 deg.C through treatment at a reliability low temperature of about 200 deg.C for a short time. Furthermore, it requires only a simple surface treatment of a base material. Therefore, a wide range of applications can be developed also from the viewpoint of workability and energy saving.
