The invention relates to metallurgy, in particular to chemical heat treatment, and can be applied to improve the properties of the surface layers of iron-based alloys.
The aim of the invention is to increase the microhardness of chromosilicated layers obtained under conditions of oxidative heating.
Состав, включающий карбид кремни , оксид хрома и галогенид натри , дополнительно содержит оксид кремни , а в качестве галогенсодержащего активатора - хлористый натрий при следующем соотношении компонентов, мас.%:The composition, including silicon carbide, chromium oxide and sodium halide, additionally contains silicon oxide, and as a halogen-containing activator, sodium chloride in the following ratio, wt.%:
35-42Silicon Carbide 35-42
20-25Sodium Chloride 5-10 Silicon Oxide 20-25
Functional purpose: silicon carbide and chromium oxide are used as suppliers of respectively active silicon and chromium atoms. Sodium chloride and silicon oxide as a result of interaction between themselves and with the oxygen of the furnace environment provide the appearance on the surface of the diffusion-active coating of the sodium silicate-based liquid shell, which plays a protective role in the HTO process under conditions of prolonged heating in an oxidizing atmosphere.
Conducted diffusion saturation of steel samples 45 sizes 20 -20 20 mm. The compositions were prepared by mixing the powder components. The coating was prepared by adding water to the powder mixture to a pasty consistency, after which it was applied to the samples with a layer of 5 mm. The tray with the samples was placed in an electric furnace with a temperature of 1100 ° C. Duration of diffusion saturation 6 hours.

The research results are presented in the table.
At saturation, chromosilicated layers are formed with a thickness of 36-40 microns with a microhardness of 9200-9400 MPa, which is significantly higher than in the case of using the composition adopted as a prototype. When using compositions that go beyond the limits of the claims, in experiment 5, layers of reduced hardness are formed, and in experiment 6 - of insignificant thickness.
Thus, the saturation of the presented composition allows to obtain layers 1.5-1.8 times higher in terms of microhardness with respect to the prototype.
