Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent an increase in an internal resistance and insulation defect owing to an SiC matrix and to improve characteristics of a cell by interposing a super-porous thin fluorinated resin film, which is provided with hydrophilic processing, without using an SiC matrix between a pair of carbon matrixes so as to compose an electrolytic matrix. CONSTITUTION:An electrolytic matrix M is composed of a pair of carbon matrixes M1, M1 and a super-porous thin fluorinated resin film (m) interposed between these matrixes M1, M1. This super-porous thin fluorinated resin film (m) is produced by a skiving method or a dispersion method. The film (m) is provided with hydrophilic property by using excessive ethyl alcohol, and phosphoric acid is substituted for it to form an electrolytic solution impregnated film (m). This film (m) is interposed between a pair of electrolytic solution impregnated carbon matrixes M1, M1 to form an electrolytic matrix M to be assembled into a cell.
